Welcome to the world of Morgan State Cheerleading Morgan State University is a small HBCU located in northeast Baltimore, Maryland. There are approximately 7,000 students attending the university.

THE 2005-2006 EDITION OF THE MORGAN STATE UNIVERSITY CHEER TEAM Welcome to the world of Morgan State Cheerleading Morgan State University is a small HBCU located in northeast Baltimore, Maryland. There are approximately 7,000 students attending the university. MSU Cheerleaders are considered part of the Athletic Department family and they follow NCAA rules for eligibility to participate in collegiate sports. All cheerleaders must maintain a 2.0 or above and carry a minimum of (12) credits. The Morgan State Cheerleaders have never finished less than 2nd at Black College Nationals or the MEAC Conference All-Girl Division Cheerleading Championships. At NCA Nationals, they have finished 8th, 10th, 12th, and 14th.




The Morgan State University Cheerleaders face a rigorous schedule every year. The team cheers at every football game and all home men's and women's basketball contests. Under the direction of Theresa Gibson, Kim Watkins, and Letisha Lopez, members of the team are involved in community service as well as participating in at least 3-5 cheerleading competitions annually. The cheerleaders of MSU have held the title of MEAC All-Girl Champions 11 out of thirteen years. This year's team has participated in The Harbor City Classic sponsored by American Cheer Express, as well as Cheerleaders Of America's Northeast Open Nationals and received the honors of Collegiate Grand Champion at both. They most recently completed their competition season as 1st Runner Ups to University of Maryland College Park at Atlantic Cheer and Dance National Championships. Combining athleticism and academic excellence, the MSU cheerleaders also earned the highest G.P.A. of all the female athletic teams for the 2004, Fall Semester.
