CHEER BEAR RESPONSIBILITIES

All cheerleaders are expected to attend all practices and performances if selected to the team. Family events, birthdays, vacations are not acceptable excuses for tardiness or absence from practice. Work related issues are not acceptable excuses for tardiness or absences. If you fail to maintain the skill level that is expected, you run the risk of being removed or replaced.
If you fail to meet training room rehab specifications, you will be suspended until all physical expectations are met. Medical trainers and sports medicine doctors/surgeons are provided for all MSU athletes. You must be cleared by OUR doctors and training staff in order to participate in this sport. This includes pre-season assessment as well as aftercare of injuries/surgeries.

If you accept a position on the team, a NON-REFUNDABLE PARTICIPATION fee of $700 will be paid. This CONTRIBUTES to camp fees and the transportation to and from NCA Camp in Myrtle Beach. You will receive practice uniforms, sneakers, backpacks, bows, warm-up suits, and sports bras. If during the cheer season you quit or are put off the team, you WILL NOT continue to receive any gear that is distributed to the remaining team members.

2019 NCA MYRTLE BEACH COLLEGE CAMP - IT IS MANDATORY!!!! FAILURE TO ATTEND MEANS REMOVAL FROM THE TEAM

Your camp reservation AND TEAM INCLUSION ON THE 2019-20 CHEER BEAR ROSTER is tentative until your $350 deposit has been received. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE YOUR DEPOSIT IN BY JUNE 15TH, YOU WILL NOT BE INCLUDED ON THE TEAM ROSTER. MORGAN STATE WILL BE SENDING THE CAMP FEES OF THOSE THAT HAVE SUBMITTED THEIR MONEY ON THE DESIGNATED DATE. Those not on the camp roster once it is sent will be removed from the MSU Cheer Roster. We will not drag this process out. Please do not call, email, or text us asking for an extension at that point. JUNE 15th IS THE DEADLINE. Buses must be reserved as well as hotel rooms at the host hotel for camp. We recommend that you not wait until the last minute to complete this tasks. Partial payments WILL be accepted until the fee deadline. NO PORTION OF THE PARCIPATION FEE IS REFUNDABLE. Please consider this prior to committing to the MSU Cheer Bear Team.

All team members must submit the remainder of their participation fees ($350 for by JULY 15th, 2019. Failure to have this fee paid in full by the designated date will jeopardize your position on the team, your scholarship opportunity, and/or your timely inclusion in upcoming games/events.

All money orders (no checks or cash) should be made out to: Morgan State Foundation. Put "cheerleading" on the memo line. Receipts will be issued upon payment.

Once you agree to be part of the team, you no longer have FREE WEEKENDS during the semester. Do Not Make Plans just because we do not have a game or you are not selected to cheer a game! There may be other functions or personal appearances that you are required to attend. Even if you are not selected to cheer at a home game, you are expected to practice on Friday and attend all home games unless excused by the coaching staff.

YOU ARE STUDENT-athletes! Academics are a priority. If you/we find that you are unable to manage your time accordingly, you will be removed/suspended from the team. Failure to meet NCAA academic requirements after the Fall semester will result in removal from the team and the loss of scholarship money for the remainder of the academic year. Other rules and regulations will be distributed upon appointment to the team.
